LDRS Day 2 – Spot on!

Hi everyone! Thanks for joining us on the blog hop today for LDRS Creative’s new June release. I hope you enjoyed Day 1 of the blog hop. Thanks for stopping by again!

Today, I’m going to spotlight the new Spot On stamp set, which focuses on adorable giraffes! There’s two in the set but I’m focusing on the main one. I stamped him and some clouds out using Raven hybrid ink and fussy cut them out.

One of the new die sets in the new release is called Practically Oval and they contain so many different choices that you can choose from. For this particular card, since the giraffe I wanted to use is large, I decided to use the largest frame. I cut a piece of Kraft cardstock and also a piece of white cardstock. I plan to do a inlay look for the card panel.

The white cardstock will be where my scene will be, so I go ahead and stamp the image of the bird on the branch on the side. Since the giraffe looks like he’s looking back, it really looks like they are looking at each other.

I decided to mask off all the little leaves and bird using LDRS Masking Paper and use ink to blend a simple background using blue for the sky and green for the ground.

Once I finish with the scene, I inlay the white piece into the kraft cardstock. I decided to add the two clouds on both sides of the giraffe. To finish off the card, I’ll go ahead and stamp the sentiment right below the bird and this card is complete.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have been enjoying the blog hop. Hopefully, it has inspired you with ideas for the new release!

LDRS Day 1 – Stinkin’ Amazing

Hi everyone! Thanks for joining us on the blog hop today for LDRS Creative’s new June release. If you are loving critters and spring, this is definitely the release for you. Today, I’m focusing on one stamp set from the new release called Stinkin’ Amazing.

This is a very cute large rubber set that contains lots of images. I really love the main skunk and the floral images. I stamped out a ton of the flowers using Raven hybrid ink and fussy cut all the images.

Using some alcohol markers, I colored them up using the same color scheme of yellow, orange, and red. I originally was only going to add flowers to the bottom of the card panel but once I built my little border, I loved it so much I replicated it on top.

I colored in the solo skunk and wanted him to stand on top of the sentiment. I stamped out the sentiment on white cardstock and matted it on black so it really popped (and quite frankly, matched the skunk).

The background seemed a bit plain with just white, so I pulled out a piece of woodgrain cardstock, added a light blue ink to it and the card really came together. It’s super subtle and you can barely see it but I think it really adds to the card in real life.

It’s a super sweet card and I love how it turned out. The flowers really pop and scream for spring/summer. I hope you’ve been enjoying all the new items and get inspired to create. I’ll be back tomorrow for Day 2 of the blog hop.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back again soon for some more inspiration and ideas!

Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out Day 2 of the blog hop for LDRS Creative. I’m sharing a simple card that’s easy to put together and gives you time for some relaxing coloring!

For today’s card, I’m using two stamp sets together that were both previously only available on HSN. My main image focuses on Polkadoodles’ Holly stamp set, Story Time. This is a larger image that takes up most of an A2 card panel. I stamped this on the bottom right of my card panel and colored it in.

Once I finished coloring this, I wanted to add a little color in the top left corner so I used Swimming Hole hybrid ink and blended it very lightly.

Since this set doesn’t come with a sentiment, I pulled out the If Friends Were Flowers stamp and die set. This set was also previously only available on HSN, and it has so many different sentiments that you can use. I die cut the large “friend” sentiment out of black cardstock and also stamped the smaller sentiment using Watermark ink with white embossing powder. It’s so perfect for this card.

I decided to trim the top and left of the card by a quarter of an inch. This helped the sentiment fill up the white space in the top left.

I’m loving this simple and clean card. As with most cards, all you need is an image and a sentiment. I’m loving how this turned out and I hope you did too!

Thanks for stopping by! Come back again soon for some more inspiration and ideas!

Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out the blog hop for LDRS Creative. I hope you’ve been enjoying all the new items and get inspired to create. I have a project using the new stamp set called Super Critters! It’s one of the new interactive stamp sets that was showcased at Creativation and I personally think it’s super cute.

I was drawn to the raccoon because it’s pretty adorable and it’s actually a critter I don’t see often in stamp sets. This particular raccoon is the image that has an interactive element to it.

I stamped the main image and the interactive body part (tail and leg) using Raven hybrid ink, which you can use with alcohol markers and watercolor. For the main image, you don’t need to color the tail and the left leg since you actually trim this portion off.

The interactive body part goes right behind the main image and is held together by a brad. I only had a star brad around, and this is ok because it looks like a little tattoo on the raccoon.

I used a few of the smaller images from the set to create a background scene. Using a pencil, I filled out the rest, including a little fence so the raccoon with her two paws could be looking over something.

Once I finish drawing everything in, I used an alcohol marker friendly pen to outline all the areas I drew in. I went ahead and colored everything bringing the scene to life.

For the main raccoon, I added a little bit of foam tape behind his head and behind his right leg. The foam tape gives the image enough dimension so that the brad and his tail and leg could move freely.

To finish off this card, I added the sentiment “You’ve Stolen My Heart”. I also used the little hearts from the Scalloped Rectangle Die and cut hearts from red glitter cardstock. It adds a cute touch to the card and corresponds to the sentiment.

I love how it turned out and I’m loving the movement. Check out the card in action over on my instagram!

For today’s card, I’m sharing a really simple, layered card. I love these kind of cards since they are easy to put together.

In the new release, there’s the Eyelet die that is just gorgeous. I paired the die with the new paper pack, Sincerely Yours. It was just perfect. The die comes with three items, the eyelet frame, a small rectangular piece and a tag (which I didn’t use). I used the frame and rectangular piece for this card. I also trimmed down a rectangle that’s a little larger using black cardstock.

IMG_7207

I stamped one of the flower blooms from the Bloom in Love stamp set and added the sentiment.

Then I just layered all the pieces together and voila! a super simple yet gorgeous card.

For today’s card along the LDRS blog hop, I’m sharing more details on my card today using a technique with perfect pearls and Watermark ink.

The newest set, Love in Bloom, includes layered dies. I personally don’t care for a lot of different inks because I just prefer to color versus stamping out solid images. The only time I run into issues is when there are layered stamps but this is a simple solution to that.

Using LDRS watermark emboss ink, I’m stamping the first solid bloom stamp on colored cardstock. I went with purple so I would end up with purple flowers. Once the watermark ink was on the paper, I would add perfect pearls over it.

IMG_7237

Nothing that looks super special, but it will look gorgeous when we finish. For the second layer of the stamp, I’m once again using watermark ink to stamp it and it’ll lift the pearlized stamping up.

IMG_7238

For the third layer, I’m using a darker purple ink, Mrs. Periwinkle, and it really creates the three dimensional look for the flowers.

IMG_7239

I create three of these flowers and do the same thing for the leaves. The leaves only have two layers, so I only use watermark ink and perfect pearls for the first layer and watermark ink for the second layer on green cardstock.

For the background, I decided I wanted to have something subtle but not distracting because I want the main focus on the flowers I just created. I used the smaller images to stamp a background, use clear embossing powder, and heat emboss.

IMG_7240

Once I created the background, I put the card together to create a gorgeous look. I love how the perfect pearls really add shimmer to the flowers and I didn’t need three different inks to create the layered effect.

Today, I’m sharing one of Polkadoodles’ stamp set from the LDRS line, Hanging Out. I adore this stamp set since it creates a full scene and is super cute with a bunch of different animals. It’s such a versatile set since you can change up the sentiment to whatever occasion you need it for. For today’s card, I used a sentiment from the Love in Bloom set.

IMG_7187

I need to practice more but no line coloring is definitely a challenge but this stamp makes it really easy paired with the LDRS Alloy hybrid ink pad, which is a light grey. I didn’t think it would work because it would be too dark but it isn’t. No line coloring also allows you to play with the shapes of the characters as well (specifically look at the owl – lol).

Hi there and welcome to day 3 of the LDRS blog hop for the September release. I’m really excited to share this card since it’s my favorite of the three days.

I used the Artic Snowfall set along with the matching paper pad. I find the matching paper pads so ingenious and you can create so many cute cards easily!

I started by stamping out the mama fox with her baby using Raven hybrid ink. I colored it in quickly using alcohol ink markers.I debated on which pattern paper to use for this card. I wanted to go for a soft look, so I pulled out this scenic piece of paper that had a bunch of trees and snowflakes. It was perfect!

IMG_4474

I really wanted to have the stamp image I colored be the focal point and sometimes that’s really hard when you use patterned paper. I decided that I wanted to use the Happy Days Circle dies to help make sure a person’s attention goes towards the foxes. I used the scalloped die to cut a piece of glittery white cardstock and the patterned paper, being SUPER careful to keep all the little interior pieces from the patterned paper. I wanted to  inlay all those little pieces from the patterned paper to the glittery white paper. Then, I used the interior circle to cut out the patterned paper.

For the sentiment, I found a matching grey cardstock to the color of the trees on the patterned paper. I used Alloy hybrid ink to stamp the sentiment.

IMG_4563

I trimmed the patterned paper just a bit on the top left and left side. I added it on top of white, glitter paper. It tied everything on the card together and finished it off.

IMG_4562

The softness of the card makes it super wintery, and I think it’s the perfect card to cap off this blog hop. I hope you enjoy this card as well. Hope you enjoyed the last three days of cards.

Have a great day! Happy Friday!

Hi there! It’s day 2 of the blog hop for the September release and I’m back to share another card. I’ve been on a simple and clean cardmaking marathon and this is just another one.

Today, I’m using the Mountains stamp alongside the Hot Chocolate stamp set. For the Mountains, I masked off the bottom of the stamp because I didn’t want that harsh line at the bottom for this particular card. I also used the snowman from the Hot Chocolate stamp set and added it to the left side of the card underneath the mountains. Sometimes, with wintery cards, it makes coloring really easy since snow is white!

I colored up the snowman with very light shadowy colors and added some pops of color for the snowman’s nose, scarf, and hat.

IMG_4565

I actually ended up trimming the mountains because I accidentally smudged some ink above but this ended up working in my favor. I decided to take advantage of the Artic Snowfall paper pack and pulled out the blue patterned paper with white snowflakes. This worked perfectly for the sky.

This ended up being such a simple card to pull together. I added the sentiment Hot Chocolate Cold Nose by using Watermark ink on black cardstock and heat embossed using white embossing powder.

I really love easy this card was to put together. Sometimes having patterned paper really makes creating cards super easy.

IMG_4564

Come back tomorrow for another card idea using the new release. It’s definitely my favorite of the bunch. I can’t wait to share. See you tomorrow!

Hi there! Thanks for joining us during release week! There are some really unique and fun things being released this month.

One of the first things that caught my attention right away was the Tree Line stamp set. It’s a small set but so versatile. At first you think, what can I really do with this, but there’s SO many things you could use it for: to create a background or to using it as a main image.

For today’s card, I used it as a main image. I stamped this out using Raven Hybrid Ink and color it up quickly using shades of green. I wanted to use this to create a gorgeous sky behind the Tree Line.

Using distress inks, I ended up creating a Northern Lights-esque background and then added “stars” by using white splatter. It was gorgeous! I never have had the chance to see the Northern Lights but it’s definitely a bucket list item.

IMG_4560

I definitely wanted to add a sentiment to this card and decided to make it really simple and use the “Congratulations” sentiment from Artic Snowfall. I didn’t want the sentiment to be too harsh so I decided against using Raven again and went with Olive Branch, which went along the green from the sky.

IMG_4559

I’m really happy how simply gorgeous this card ended up being. I can’t wait to use this stamp for a gorgeous background as well. I hope you enjoyed this card and the idea. I’ll see you back here tomorrow for another card. Have a great day!

2 Die Cut Backgrounds | LDRS Creative

Hi there everyone! It’s Jeannie and I’m back to share not just one, but two cards!
When I first saw the Autumn Breeze die in the August release, I really couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. Normally, I am really picky about background dies because sometimes they take away from your main image. Part of this particular die will cut and part of it embosses, creating really pretty details in the leaves.
I decided to use this die to cut out of kraft cardstock, thinking that it just fits perfectly for Fall and for some reason, I just tend to use this cardstock color more during the Fall.
I really wanted to color using colored pencil on kraft so I decided to choose three green shades to create dimension on the leaves. I used the darkest green in the embossed crevices and the border. Then I used the lightest green in the center of the leaves and then the mid-shade to blend the dark and light out. Doesn’t it look amazing? For the branches, I also used three shades of brown to quickly color it in.
For the center of this die background, I used the oval die cut that comes in this die set. I decided to use one of the sentiments fromMagic Fall Sentiments for the center.
Secondly, I die cut the same Autumn Breeze die on brown cardstock and used a mix of yellow, orange and red colored pencils for the leaves instead. For the center, I decided to use an image from the Happy Fall stamp set to stamp in white and also do some no-line coloring. The little mouse is so adorable and fits right in with this die cut background.
I really love how these cards turned out and I have a video showing my process:

Have a great day! See you next time!

Hi there! This is the last day of the blog hop and I’m sharing one of my favorite cards from the release. I used Ant’s Pants and the Sun & Clouds die to put together this scene in the pop up box card. It also features one of my childhood fascinations …. an ANT FARM!
