Custom Shaker Cards

Hello all! Today’s card is one of those cards where I have an idea in mind, but I just want to transform it into a shaker card so it’s not so plain.

I’ve realized that Honey Bee Stamps has a lot of images in their stamp sets and I love that, but unless you get the coordinating sentiments, you’re left creating your own. For this particular card, I’m using Altenew’s Bold Alphabet dies to create my own sentiment and writing in the second part of the sentiment.

Since the images from Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Break stamp set are large, I used them to create shakers. See how in the tutorial down below. All supplies are also listed.

Easy Slider & Stamp Manipulation

Hi there!

Today I’m sharing this card that I love so much! I had this idea in my head for awhile but when I went to the stamp set, I realized that the bear was actually holding the pie in his hand. I really wanted to make it so he would pop up from a window peeking at the pie.

This happens a lot when I have an idea for an interactive card in my head so sometimes I just have to mask and manipulate the image a bit.

Also, for this particular slider, I don’t need a slider die. I just create a channel using foam tape.

Thankfully, it’s easier to show you than explain in words, so I have a video for you!

No Bulk Interactive card | Lawn Fawn

Hello! Today I’m sharing a card where there’s movement on the card, but there’s not much added bulk. It’s a card I created so that the Narwhal and the Pink Mermaid move (or swim) in this fun underwater scene.

To create this card, I used zig markers to blend out a fun watercolored background. I then used a ton of vellum to create “waves” for the scene, where I could let the images be in the water.

It’s such a fun card that I created a video so you can see how I created it. Check it out!

As always, all the supplies are listed down below and I’d love to hear what you think!

Floating Floor Pop Up | GSD

Hey there! I’m sharing this Floating Floor Pop Up card today using Gerda Steiner Designs Go Wild stamp set. Going on a safari is on my bucket list, but I haven’t gone yet so I like the idea of creating a card to pretend I’ve been.

I have a video to describe my process and it does seem a bit overwhelming at first. I think once you have all the moving parts ready to go, it is pretty easy to put together.

As always, my supplies are listed below.

Have a Ball! | Gerda Steiner Designs

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve shared one of my cards and I really am loving this one. If you’re a fan of animals, especially doggies, this Dachshunds stamp set is for you! You’ll see that I used the Hoppiness stamp set as well to add a few extra elements to the card as well.

I used a grassy hills die to create a stencil. Using distress inks, I colored two layers of the grass. I definitely wanted to use two of the dogs in the set. I like how the first dog is looking back. I can’t really tell if he’s looking at that butterfly on his tail or the other dog chasing the tennis ball.

Since the second dog looked to be moving, I wanted to put him in action. And what dog doesn’t love chasing balls? I just had to have him chase the tennis ball included in this set. I create a pull tab channel so he could run towards the ball.

I used two sentiments in this card: It’s Your Birthday and Have A Ball. The first one is prominent on the front of the card, but the second one is hidden until the dog fetches the ball. It’s a small surprise for the card recipient.

I used the hearts and the butterfly from the Hoppiness set so I could add pop of color to the card. It looked a little too plain with just the doggies. I think it helps add that special something to the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card and picked up the set. It’s so fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Circle Spinner | Sweet Stamp Shop

Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing a fun card using the new circle spinner die from Sweet Stamp Shop. This die is pretty versatile because you can use it as an interactive card or you can use it as a frame to spotlight a scene. I am using it interactively today paired with the Reel It In Stamp & Die set.

I have gone fishing once in my lifetime and I thought it was pretty fun once I got the hang of it. Of course, I think casting and reeling in a fish was the most fun. Touching a fish… not so much, but I digress. I wanted to mimic the reel and the casting using the spinner card.

I also used one of the wave border dies that haven’t been released yet, but I find this a versatile die as well. You can use it for waves or to create a scalloped edge. In this case, I used it in the obvious manner for the waves in the ocean.

I have a video tutorial for how I created this card from start to finish. I hope you enjoy it! Everything I use will also be linked below. Have a great day!

Beam Me Up | Lawn Fawn

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope the week has been treating everyone well so far (halfway to the weekend!). Today, I’m sharing a card from one of my favorite sets from the newest Lawn Fawn collection, Beam Me Up. Of course, when I first saw this set, I wanted to do a pull up slider tab with the spaceship beaming up aliens. I’ve seen a lot of these wonderful cards, so I wanted to do something a little different.

Be sure to check out how I created it over at Drive By Craft’s blog.

And as an added bonus, I have a video as well.

Pop Up Spinner Card | Sunny Studios

Happy Friday!

When I first saw this Sunny Studio stamp set, my  mind raced back to the pop up spinner card I did awhile back and I really wanted to redo that card using this set. It’s more or less the same card, but this time, I have a video for it to help anyone recreate the same card.

IMG_0062

There’s quite a few steps to this card because I wanted to use three images, but using just one is just fine as well. The techniques involved is reverse stamping, pop up, and a spinner. It’s a three in one for this card! If you watch the video, you get the basic idea behind the card, and hopefully you can make a similar card as well!

Scene Changing Card | Strawberry Jude Stamps

Hi all, I’m back to share this scene changing card with you. I’ve been imagining something like this in my mind for awhile, but I just didn’t have the set to inspire me to really put it together. Strawberry Jude Stamps is a company I just discovered and they had a moving sale (their shop is currently closed because of relocation) so I took advantage of it. I feel a little bad about sharing it when you can’t get this specific set right away, but there are sets you can use for the same type of card. (May I suggest, Planner Street’s Gimme Smore?).

In my video, I explain how I put everything together. It’s a pretty easy card to put together once you have your images ready.

Here, this is where it’s daytime with a clear, blue sky.

IMG_9920

And this one, is after I spin the card and it’s now turned into night time. The die I used to add the stars and the embossed stars looks really pretty.

IMG_9921

You’ll notice I have no sentiment just yet and that’s because I’m not sure who to give it to yet. When I figure it out, I’ll add it to the wooden sign and pick one that matches the occasion.

If you’re interested in finding out how I put this together, see the video below. I’m also listing all the supplies I use below.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the card!

Vellum (or Acetate) Shaker Card

Hi all, I’m up on the Drive By Craft’s Blog today sharing this fun shaker card using their Itty Bitty Shaker Fun shaker bits, and Waffle Flower’s Stay Cool stamp set.

IMG_9575.JPG

I created a half shaker card and used vellum… but once I was done, I wasn’t so sure about it and recreated it using acetate.
