Hi everyone! I hope you’ve been enjoying all the new items and get inspired to create. I have a project using a few of the new release items to create a fun scene card.

First, from the Puddle Jumpers set, I stamped out the large girl with the umbrella. I also stamped on the same image on Masking Paper to create a mask for it.

I split the card panel into two, the bottom for grass and the top for the stormy sky using distress inks. I used the Coming Up Daisies stencil for the fence right over the sky behind the girl. I also used the Rainy Day stencil for the rain. For this one, I used a baby wipe to pick up the color from the sky background.

Once I was done with the scene, I stamped out the sentiment using the Watermark ink and heat embossed it. I love the font of this sentiment. It’s so cute and really ties with the scene card.

I also have a video for the process of how this card came together so check it out if you’re interested!

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie sharing a fun card using the LDRS Creative new release with the amazing stamp set named, Holly – Bunny Tail.

Since this set has a large image with a girl and some smaller images, I really just wanted to use all of them. I stamped out all of them in Raven hybrid ink and once they were all colored, I trimmed them out in squares.

I chose a piece of patterned paper from the new paper pad, Puddle Jumpers, and went with a very subtle pattern. I added all the images right on top and they all fit perfectly. It’s such a simple card but I love how sweet it is.

For today’s card, I wanted the focus to be on the champion hamster. I love how his arms are raised in victory. I stamped him out using the Blackout Hybrid Ink. I love how crisp this ink is and I can use it with both watercolors and alcohol markers. (P.S. They don’t leave a black stain on your stamps if you clean them right after, which I know most people don’t mind, but it personally irks me). This is such a cute little hamster and it’s so easy to color him up.

I also use the coordinating Knockout Nibbles dies to help cut this out. The image is also pretty easy to fussy cut as well but for this card, I needed the white outline to allow this image to pop off my darker background.

I love the little embellishments in the set and focused on the small sunburst. I wanted to create a ring of these sunbursts so I decided to use a 4 inch square card panel. Using the Juicy Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink, I stamped a first ring of the sunbursts and then heat embossed using gold embossing powder. Then I decided to stamp the interior of the ring and used a satin white embossing powder.

My card is basically complete once I put everything together. I chose the sentiment “You’re A Champ”, stamping the words out using the Blackout Hybrid Ink on white cardstock and trimmed it down. For my card panel, I used a I added the cute little hamster right in the middle.

I’m using a 4.25 x 4.25 square card base for this card. Since my background panel is 4 x 4, it leaves a nice white border around the entire card and really ties in the die cut image along with the sentiment.

I hope you’ve been enjoying this project using the new stamp and die set along with use of the popular inks from Ink On 3. I hope you get inspired to create!

Let’s Get Crafty!

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a sneak peek for Penguin Palace’s new release with the awesome stamp set named, Let’s Get Crafty. If you love crafty and artsy stamp sets, this is perfect for you! This is releasing March 20.

I love the main image in this set and wanted to focus on that today. Since this set revolves around being crafty and color, I definitely wanted to include rainbow colors in this. This crafter’s main tool is a paint brush and I wanted the colors to come out it! For this card, I stamped and fussy cut this image out since I am using watercolor, I didn’t want to have to mask off the image.

For this card panel, I used Tombow markers to create this rainbow by drawing lines of color. To blend this out, I used a waterbrush. Of course, it won’t blend perfectly but art and creativity is not meant to be perfect.

I really like how this card turned out and I’m loving how the rainbow colors pop and really pull this card together. I also created a video so you can check out the full process from start to finish. Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. Come back tomorrow to see another sneak peek of a new stamp set. Can’t wait to show you what’s coming up!

Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out Day 3 of the blog hop for LDRS Creative. I’m sharing a card using one of the sets showcased at Creativation, Hippo Hooray. Similar to Day 1, this set has an interactive image that moves with a brad.

For today’s card, I used a variety of the images. I stamped them out using Raven ink, colored them with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them out. This set doesn’t come with coordinating die because of the nature of the interactive element… It would look odd with the white border a die leaves.

I wanted to create a simple scene for this since I’m using a few images. I just drew in the stage area and used Stamping Mask paper so I could use distress inks to color it quickly. For the stands, I drew in a simple pattern mirroring the stand the little bird is standing on. I also stamped the little star that is in the set to give it a little more decoration.

After the background is colored in, I play with the images deciding where they should go. I want to fit everyone in so I add the dancing hippo to a tightrope.

For the hippo, I trim off the left arm and right leg replacing it with the full arm/leg image included in the set. I picked out a blue flower brad so it looks like she’s wearing a little belt with a flower buckle.

To finish off this card, I stamped the Hip Hippo Hooray sentiment in the middle of the card. Additionally, I trimmed the card panel by a quarter of an inch so it would have a white border around the panel.

This dancing hippo is adorable, don’t you think? If you want a visual of how it works, check out my instagram for a short clip. Thanks for stopping by for this LDRS Creative blog hop! Hope you’ve enjoyed all the inspiration.

Sweet Carousel – Spinner

Hi there! Jeannie back today and I hope you’ve been all enjoying the January release. Everything has been pretty amazing right? I’m blown away from the new sets!

When I first saw the Sweet Carousel set, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Aren’t these images perfect for a spinner card? And what else do horses on a carousel do other than spin?

I set out to create a really simple version since these images were pretty large so I only needed one. I basically grabbed a piece of acetate to help me create a mirror image of the stamp. I stamped it one on cardstock and then stamped the same image on a piece of acetate. I used the image on acetate and pressed it against the cardstock, transferring the image. It wasn’t perfect but I ended up outlining the image again to darken the lines. Once I finished coloring them, I die cut the images using the coordinating Sweet Carousel dies. For the mirror image, I had to die cut on the backside of the image.

I used a piece of paper from the new Watercolor Foil paper pad (it’s so freaking pretty!) and I picked a color that matched the horse’s mane. I think it works really well. I used one of the Stitched Rectangles 2 dies to cut out a window for the carousel. I used transparent sewing thread, stuck it in between the two images and wrapped it around the top and bottom of the card.

If you spin the image and close the card, the card is ready to go. Once the recipient opens the card, the little carousel will spin. If you’re curious to see it in action, visit my instagram page… I’ll have a short video showing it in action.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed today’s card.

1 Set, 2 cards | Altenew

Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing two card sets using one singular stamp set. I used the same two flowers but the two cards look completely different.

For the first card, I stamped and masked off the flowers. I smooshed distress inks onto a craft mat, misted it with water, and put the card panel directly into the inks. To finish it off, I added splatters of the same inks. Adding a large sentiment in the middle of the card really finished off the card.

IMG_0801

The second card is one created with the same flowers. I heat embossed using white embossing powder and colored it up with multiple colors of distress ink. Once colored, I trimmed out the flowers. I embossed a solid piece of cardstock using a multi dot folder to give it a bit of texture. Adding the sentiment to the card finishes it off.

For details on how I put these two together, I have a video for you.

Scene Changing Card | Strawberry Jude Stamps

Hi all, I’m back to share this scene changing card with you. I’ve been imagining something like this in my mind for awhile, but I just didn’t have the set to inspire me to really put it together. Strawberry Jude Stamps is a company I just discovered and they had a moving sale (their shop is currently closed because of relocation) so I took advantage of it. I feel a little bad about sharing it when you can’t get this specific set right away, but there are sets you can use for the same type of card. (May I suggest, Planner Street’s Gimme Smore?).

In my video, I explain how I put everything together. It’s a pretty easy card to put together once you have your images ready.

Here, this is where it’s daytime with a clear, blue sky.

IMG_9920

And this one, is after I spin the card and it’s now turned into night time. The die I used to add the stars and the embossed stars looks really pretty.

IMG_9921

You’ll notice I have no sentiment just yet and that’s because I’m not sure who to give it to yet. When I figure it out, I’ll add it to the wooden sign and pick one that matches the occasion.

If you’re interested in finding out how I put this together, see the video below. I’m also listing all the supplies I use below.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the card!

Sweet Stamp Shop & Chibi Lights

I personally love interactive cards and am always looking for a way to take my cards to the next level. I’m a huge fan of fairy tales and so I had to use the Hope Princess mixed with Wear a Crown set. It reminds me of one of my favorite movies. Can you guess which?

I actually had a bunch of ideas for this project, but ended up with a pretty simple one. I think it’s amazing regardless. To start, I wanted to draw out a scene to work out with this idea I had.1

Once I had that, I colored it in trying to keep it pretty simple. I have never used Chibitronics but when I opened up the kit, there was a booklet that gives you all the instructions you need for using these lights to create a project. Additionally, they provide two batteries, a handful of different colored lights, and copper wire. The instructions are straightforward with picture examples so it was easy to understand and to follow.

7

For my particular card, I wanted the rose and the mirror to light up so I got to work on mapping out my layout. I find it super helpful to map out how you want to lay out the copper wire so you know exactly where things need to go instead of repeated trial and error. I mark the lines from the housing and where the positive and negative lines go.

2

Once I finished planning, I’ll add the copper wire and varnish it to make sure the connection will be smooth. I also try to keep the positive and negative placement close together so the lights can fit perfectly in between. I chose a red light (for the rose) and a white light (for the mirror). They are marked clearly on the sticker as well as the positive and negative side.3

I use two layers of foam tape because the battery housing is about two layers high.4

After that, I attach the card base to housing that holds the Chibi lights and then attach that to a black card base.5

Once you press on the princess, the rose and the mirror light up. I get really giddy every time. I just love how this card turned out.6

Birthday Cards – Candy Dispensing Card

I had spotted this design on Instagram. It was a card that actually worked to dispense candy! I knew I had to make one for myself. It is such a great idea to give to a kid, or just to someone who enjoys candy!

I checked out her youtube video (Tutorial), tweaked a few things, and created my version of it. I hate when dimensional cards leave you with the foam tape peeking out on the sides so the simple solution was to use washi tape to hide it. The added touch really helps finish the card. Pretty fun…

13879288_185545058531049_1686366509006711633_n

It works the same way as the tutorial. The only swaps I made was using craft foam instead of foam tape, and lining the edge of the card with washi instead of leaving it bare. It’s so exciting to see it work out successfully.
